Masoretic Corruptions

The Masoretic generally corrupts all the ages given in the generations of Genesis, which would estimate the world is ~1000 years younger.

New Testament

In the following places the New Testament uses the Septuagint & the Masoretic disagrees:

Old Testament

Genesis 4:7

Hast thou not sinned if thou hast brought it rightly, but not rightly divided it? Be still, to thee shall be his submission, & thou shalt rule over him.

If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? & if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. Unto thee shall be his desire, & thou shalt rule over him.

Genesis 10:24

(cf. Lk. 3:35-36)

Arphaxad begot Cainan, & Cainan begot Sala; & Sala begot Eber.

Arphaxad begat Sala; & Sala begat Eber.

Exodus 12:40

(cf. Gen. 15:13)

And the sojourning of the children of Israel, while they sojourned in the land of Ægypt & the land of Chanaan, was four hundred & thirty years.

Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Ægypt, was four hundred & thirty years.

Exodus 33:9

When Moses entered into the tabernacle, the Pillar of the Cloud descended, & stood at the door of the tabernacle, & talked to Moses.

It came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the Cloudy Pillar descended, & stood at the door of the tabernacle, & the Lord talked with Moses.

Deuteronomy 32:8

(cf. Gen. 10:2-32)

He set the bounds of the nations according to the number of the angels of God.

He set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

Job 2:9

When much time had passed, his wife said to him, How long wilt thou hold out, saying, Behold, I wait yet a little while, expecting the hope of my deliverance? For, behold, thy memorial is abolished from the earth, even thy sons & daughters, the pangs & pains of my womb which I bore in vain with sorrows; & thou thyself sittest down to spend the nights in the open air among the corruption of worms, & I am a wanderer & a servant from place to place & house to house, waiting for the setting of the sun, that I may rest from my labours & my pangs which now beset me: but say some word against the Lord, & die.

Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, & die.

Job 38:17

Do the gates of death open to thee for fear; & did the porters of hell quake when they saw thee?

Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?

Job 42:17

Then Job died, an old man & full of days: & it is written: that he will rise again with those whom the Lord raiseth up. This man is described in the Syrian book as living in the land of Ausis, on the borders of Idumæa & Arabia: & his name before was Jobab; & having taken an Arabian wife, he begot a son whose name was Ennon. He himself was the son of his father Zare, one of the sons of Esau, & of his mother Bosorrha, so that he was the fifth from Abraham. These were the kings who reigned in Edom, which country he also ruled over: first, Balac, the son of Beor, & the name of his city was Dennaba: but after Balac, Jobab, who is called Job: & after him Asom, who was governor out of the country of Thæman: & after him Adad, the son of Barad, who destroyed Madiam in the plain of Moab; & the name of his city was Gethaim. His friends who came to him were Eliphaz, of the children of Esau, king of the Thæmanites, Baldad sovereign of the Sauchæans, Sophar king of the Minæans.

So Job died, being old & full of days.

2 Chronicles 37:1-15

O Lord Almighty, the God of our fathers Abraham & Isaac & Jacob & of their righteous seed; Who hast made the heaven & the earth with all their adornment; Who hast bound the sea with the word of Thy commandment; Who hast closed the abyss & sealed it with Thy fearful & glorious name; Whom all things revere & tremble before the face of Thy power, because the magnificence of Thy glory is unendurable & irresistible the wrath of Thy threatening against sinners: the mercy of Thy promise is both immeasurable & inscrutable; for Thou art the Lord most high, compassionate, long-suffering, & most merciful, repenting of the evils of men. Thou, Lord, according to the abundance of Thy goodness, hast proclaimed repentance & forgiveness to those that have sinned against Thee, & in the multitude of Thy kindnesses Thou hast decreed for sinners repentance unto salvation. Surely Thou, O Lord, the God of the just, hast not appointed repentance for the just, for Abraham & Isaac & Jacob who have not sinned against Thee; but Thou hast appointed repentance for me a sinner: for I have sinned above the number of the sand of the sea. My transgressions are multiplied, O Lord, they are multiplied, & I am not worthy to look at or see the height of heaven, for the multitude of my iniquities, being bowed down by many iron bonds, so that I cannot uplift my head, & there is no release for me, because I have provoked Thy anger, & have done evil before Thee, not doing Thy will, nor keeping Thy commandments, but setting up abominations & multiplying offences. And now I bend the knee of my heart, beseeching Thy goodness: I have sinned, Lord, I have sinned, & I acknowledge my transgressions: but I pray & beseech Thee, release me, Lord, release me, & destroy me not with my transgressions; keep not evils for me in anger for ever, nor condemn me to the lowest parts of the earth: because Thou art God, the God of the repenting; & in me Thou wilt shew all Thy benevolence, for that me unworthy Thou wilt save, according to Thy great mercy: & I will praise Thee continually all the days of my life: for all the host of the heavens sings to Thee, & Thine is the glory for ever & ever. Amen.

Esther 1:1

In the second year of the reign of Artaxerxes the great king, on the first day of Nisan, Mardochæus the son of Jairus, the son of Semias, the son of Cisæus, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Jew dwelling in the city Susa, a great man, serving in the king’s palace, saw a vision. Now he was of the captivity which Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon had carried captive from Jerusalem, with Jechonias the king of Judæa. And this was his dream: Behold, voices & a noise, thunders & earthquake, tumult upon the earth. And, behold, two great serpents came forth, both ready for conflict, & there came from them a great voice, & by their voice every nation was prepared for battle, even to fight against the nation of the just. And, behold, a day of darkness & blackness, tribulation & anguish, affliction & great tumult upon the earth. And all the righteous nation was troubled, fearing their own afflictions; & they prepared to die, & cried to God: & from their cry there came as it were a great river from a little fountain, even much water. And light & the sun arose, & the lowly were exalted, & devoured the honorable. And Mardochæus who had seen this vision & what God designed to do, having awoke, kept it in his heart, & desired by all means to interpret it, even till night. And Mardochæus rested quiet in the palace with Gabatha & Tharrha the king’s two chamberlains, eunuchs who guarded the palace. And he heard their reasonings & searched out their plans, **& learnt that they were preparing to lay hands onZz king Artaxerxes: & he informed the king concerning them. And the king examined the two chamberlains, they confessed, & were executed. And the king wrote these things for a memorial; also Mardochæus wrote concerning these matters. And the king commanded Mardochæus to attend in the palace, & gave him gifts for this service. And Aman the son of Amadathes the Bugæan was honorable in the sight of the king, & he endeavoured to hurt Mardochæus & his people, because of the two chamberlains of the king. And it came to pass after these things in the days of Artaxerxes, (this Artaxerxes ruled over a hundred & twenty-seven provinces from India).

Now it came to pass in the days of Artaxerxes, (this is Artaxerxes which reigned, from India even unto Æthiopia, over an hundred & seven & twenty provinces).

Esther 3:13

And the message was sent by posts throughout the kingdom of Artaxerxes, to destroy utterly the race of the Jews on the first day of the twelfth month, which is Adar, & to plunder their goods. And the following is the copy of the letter; The great king Artaxerxes writes thus to the rulers & inferior governors of a hundred & twenty-seven provinces, from India even to Æthiopia, who hold authority under him. Ruling over many nations, & having obtained dominion over the whole world, I was minded, (not elated by the confidence of power, but ever conducting myself with great moderation & with gentleness,) to make the lives of my subjects continually tranquil, desiring both to maintain the kingdom quiet & orderly to its utmost limits, & to restore the peace desired by all men. But when I had enquired of my counsellors how this should be brought to pass, Aman, who excels in soundness of judgment among us, & has been manifestly well inclined without wavering & with unshaken fidelity, & has obtained the second post in the kingdom, informed us that a certain ill-disposed people is mixed up with all the tribes throughout the world, opposed in their laws to every other nation, & continually neglecting the commands of the kings, so that the united government blamelessly administered by us is not quietly established. Having then conceived that this nation alone of all others is continually set in opposition to every man, introducing as a change a foreign code of laws, & injuriously plotting to accomplish the worst of evils against our interests, & against the happy establishment of the monarchy; we have accordingly appointed those who are signified to you in the letters written by Aman, who is set over the **public affairs & is our second governor, to destroyzz them all utterly with their wives & children by the swords of the enemies, without pitying or sparing any, on the fourteenth day of the twelfth month Adar, of the present year; that the people aforetime & now ill-disposed to us having been violently consigned to death in one day, may hereafter secure to us continually a well constituted & quiet state of affairs.

And the letters were sent by posts into all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to kill, & to cause to perish, all Jews, both young & old, little children & women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, & to take the spoil of them for a prey.

Esther 4:8

And he gave him the copy of the writing that was published in Susa concerning their destruction, to shew to Esther; & told him to charge her to go in & intreat the king, & to beg him for the people, remembering, said he, the days of thy low estate, how thou wert nursed by my hand: because Aman who holds the next place to the king has spoken against us for death. Do thou call upon the Lord, & speak to the king concerning us, to deliver us from death.

Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that was given at Susa to destroy them, to shew it unto Esther, & to declare it unto her, & to charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make supplication unto him, & to make request before him for her people.

Esther 4:17

So Mardochæus went & did all that Esther commanded him. And he besought the Lord, making mention of all the works of the Lord; & he said, Lord God, king ruling over all, for all things are in Thy power, & there is no one that shall oppose Thee in Thy purpose to save Israel.—For Thou hast made the heaven & the earth, & every wonderful thing in the world under heaven. And Thou art Lord of all, & there is no one who shall resist Thee the Lord. Thou knowest all things: Thou knowest, Lord, that it is not in insolence, nor haughtiness, nor love of glory, that I have done this, to refuse obeisance to the haughty Aman. For I would gladly have kissed the soles of his feet for the safety of Israel. But I have done this, that I might not set the glory of man above the glory of God: & I will not worship any one except Thee, my Lord, & I will not do these things in haughtiness. And now, O Lord God, the King, the God of Abraham, spare Thy people, for our enemies are looking upon us to our destruction, & they have desired to destroy Thine ancient inheritance. Do not overlook Thy peculiar people, whom Thou hast redeemed for Thyself out of the land of Ægypt. Hearken to my prayer, & be propitious to Thine inheritance, & turn our mourning into gladness, that we may live & sing praise to Thy name, O Lord; & do not utterly destroy the mouth of them that praise Thee, O Lord. And all Israel cried with all their might, for their death was before their eyes. And queen Esther betook herself for refuge to the Lord, being taken as it were in the agony of death. And having taken off her glorious apparel, she put on garments of distress & mourning; & instead of grand perfumes she filled her head with ashes & dung, & she greatly brought down her body, & she filled every place of her glad adorning with the torn curls of her hair. And she besought the Lord God of Israel, & said, O my Lord, Thou alone art our King: help me who am destitute, & have no helper but Thee, for my danger is near at hand. I have heard from my birth, in the tribe of my kindred, that Thou, Lord, tookest Israel out of all the nations, & our fathers out of all their kindred for a perpetual inheritance, & hast wrought for them all that Thou hast said. And now we have sinned before Thee, & Thou hast delivered us into the hands of our enemies, because we honored their gods: Thou art righteous, O Lord. But now they have not been contented with the bitterness of our slavery, but have laid their hands on the hands of their idols, in order to abolish the decree of Thy mouth, & utterly to destroy Thine inheritance, & to stop the mouth of them that praise Thee, & to extinguish the **glory of Thine house & Thine altar, & to open the mouth of the gentiles to speak the praises of vanities, & in order that a mortal king should be admired for ever. O Lord, do not resign Thy sceptre to them that are not, & let them not laugh at our fall, but turn their counsel against themselves, & make an example of him who has begun to injure us. Remember us, O Lord, manifest Thyself in the time of our affliction, & encourage me, O King of gods, & Ruler of all dominion. Put harmonious speech into my **mouth before the lion, & turn his heart to hate himzz that fights against us, to the utter destruction of him & of them that consent with him. But deliver us by Thine hand, & help me who am destitute, & have none but Thee, O Lord. Thou knowest all things, & knowest that I hate the glory of transgressors, & that I abhor the couch of the uncircumcised, & of every stranger. Thou knowest my necessity, for I abhor the symbol of my proud station, which is upon my head in the days of my splendour: I abhor it as a **menstruous cloth, & I wear it not in the days of myzz tranquillity. And Thy handmaid has not eaten at the table of Aman, & I have not honored the banquet of the king, neither have I drunk wine of libations. Neither has Thy handmaid rejoiced since the day of my promotion until now, except in Thee, O Lord God of Abraham. O God, Who hast power over all, hearken to the voice of the desperate, & deliver us from the hand of them that devise mischief; & deliver me from my fear.

So Mordochæus went his way, & did according to all that Esther had commanded him.

Esther 5:1-2

And it came to pass on the third day, when she had ceased praying, that she put off her mean dress, & put on her glorious apparel. And being splendidly arrayed, & having called upon God the Overseer & Preserver of all things, she took her two maids, & she leaned upon one, as a delicate female, & the other followed bearing her train. And she was blooming in the perfection of her beauty; & her face was cheerful, as it were benevolent, but her heart was straitened for fear. And having passed through all the doors, she stood before the king: & he was sitting upon his royal throne, & he had put on all his glorious apparel, covered all over with gold & precious stones, & was very terrible. And having raised his face resplendent with glory, he looked with intense anger: & the queen fell, & changed her colour as she fainted; & she bowed herself upon the head of the maid that went before her. But God changed the spirit of the king to gentleness, & in intense feeling he sprang from off his throne, & took her into his arms, until she recovered: & he comforted her with peaceable words, & said to her, What is the matter, Esther? I am thy brother; be of good cheer, thou shalt not die, for our command is openly declared to thee, Draw nigh. And having raised the golden sceptre he laid it upon her neck, & embraced her, & said, Speak to me. And she said to him, I saw thee, my lord, as an angel of God, & my heart was troubled for fear of thy glory; for thou, my lord, art to be wondered at, & thy face is full of grace. And while she was speaking, she fainted & fell. Then the king was troubled, & all his servants comforted her.

Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, & stood in the inner court of the king’s house, over against the king’s house: & the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house. And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: & the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, & touched the top of the sceptre.

Esther 8:12

On one day in all the kingdom of Artaxerxes, on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is Adar. And the following is the copy of the letter of the orders. The great king Artaxerxes sends greeting to the rulers of provinces in a hundred & twenty-seven satrapies, from India to Æthiopia, even to those who are faithful to our interests. Many who have been frequently honored by the most abundant kindness of their benefactors have conceived ambitious designs, & not only endeavour to hurt our subjects, but moreover, not being able to bear prosperity, they also endeavour to plot against their own benefactors. And they not only would utterly abolish gratitude from among men, but also, elated by the boastings of men who are strangers to all that is good, they suppose that they shall escape the sin-hating vengeance of the ever-seeing God. And oftentimes evil exhortation has made partakers of the guilt of shedding innocent blood, & has involved in irremediable calamities, many of those who were appointed to offices of authority, who had been entrusted with the management of their friends’ affairs; while men, by the false sophistry of an evil disposition, have deceived the simple candor of the ruling powers. And it is possible to see this, not so much from more ancient traditionary accounts, as it is immediately in your power to see it by examining what things have been wickedly perpetrated by the baseness of men unworthily holding power. And it is right to take heed with regard to the future, that we may maintain the government in undisturbed peace for all men, adopting needful changes, & ever judging those cases which come under our notice, with truly equitable decision. For whereas Aman, a Macedonian, the son of Amadathes, in reality an alien from the blood of the Persians, & differing widely from our mild course of government, having been hospitably entertained by us, obtained so large a share of our universal kindness, as to be called our father, & to continue the person next to the royal throne, reverenced of all; he, however, overcome by the pride of his station, endeavoured to deprive us of our dominion, & our life; having by various & subtle artifices demanded for destruction both Mardochæus our deliverer & perpetual benefactor, & Esther the blameless consort of our kingdom, with their whole nation. For by these methods he thought, having surprised us in a defenceless state, to transfer the dominion of the Persians to the Macedonians. But we find that the Jews, who have been consigned to destruction by the most abominable of men, are not malefactors, but living according to the justest laws, & being the sons of the living God, the Most High & Mighty, Who maintains the kingdom, to us as well as to our forefathers, in the most excellent **order. Ye will therefore do well in refusing to obeyzz the letters sent by Aman the son of Amadathes, because he that has done these things, has been hanged with his whole family at the gates of Susa, Almighty God having swiftly returned to him a worthy recompence. We enjoin you then, having openly published a copy of this letter in every place, to give the Jews permission to use their own lawful customs, & to strengthen them, that on the thirteenth of the twelfth month Adar, on the self-same day, they may defend themselves against those who attacked them in a time of affliction. For in the place of the destruction of the chosen race, Almighty God has granted them this time of gladness. Do ye therefore also, among your notable feasts, keep a distinct day with all festivity, that both now & hereafter it may be a day of deliverance to us & those who are well disposed toward the Persians, but to those that plotted against us a memorial of destruction. And every city & province collectively, which shall not do accordingly, shall be consumed with vengeance by spear & fire: it shall be made not only inaccessible to men, but also most hateful to wild beasts & birds for ever.

On one day in all the provinces of king Artaxerxes, namely, on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is Adar.

Esther 10:3

And Mardochæus was viceroy to king Artaxerxes, & was a great man in the kingdom, & honored by the Jews, & passed his life beloved of all his nation. And Mardochæus said, These things have been done of God. For I remember the dream which I had concerning these matters: for not one particular of them has failed. There was the little fountain, which became a river, & there was light, & the sun, & much water. The river is Esther, whom the king married, & made queen. And the two serpents are I & Aman. And the nations are those nations that combined to destroy the name of the Jews. But as for my nation, this is Israel, even they that cried to God, & were delivered: for the Lord delivered His people, & the Lord rescued us out of all these calamities; & God wrought such signs & great wonders as have not been done among the nations. Therefore did He ordain two lots, one for the people of God, & one for all the other nations. And these two lots came for an appointed season, & for a day of judgment, before God, & for all the nations. And God remembered His people, & vindicated His inheritance. And they shall observe these days, in the month Adar, on the fourteenth & on the fifteenth day of the month, with an assembly, & joy & gladness before God, throughout the generations for ever among His people Israel. In the fourth year of the reign of Ptolemy & Cleopatra, Dositheus, who said that he was a priest & a Levite, & Ptolemy his son, brought in the published letter of Phruræ, which they said existed, & which Lysimachus the son of Ptolemy, who was in Jerusalem, had interpreted.

For Mordocæas the Jew was next unto king Artaxerxes, & great among the Jews, & accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, & speaking peace to all his seed.

Psalms 67:21

The pathways leading forth from death are those of the Lord’s Lord.

Unto the Lord belong the issues from death.

Psalms 98:5

Exalt ye the Lord our God, & worship the footstool of His feet.

Exalt ye the Lord our God, & worship at His footstool.

Joel 3:1

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh; & your sons & your daughters shall prophesy, & your old men shall dream dreams, & your young men shall see visions.

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; & your sons & your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.

Esaias 7:14

Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; behold, a virgin shall conceive in the womb, & shall bring forth a Son.

Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; behold, a maiden shall conceive, & bear a Son.

Ezechiel 28:13

(cf. Ex. 28:17-20)

Thou wast in the delight of the paradise of God; thou hast bound upon thee every precious stone, the sardius, & topaz, & emerald, & carbuncle, & sapphire, & jasper, & silver, & gold, & ligure, & agate, & amethyst, & chrysolyte, & beryl, & onyx: & thou hast filled thy treasures & thy stores in thee with gold.

Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, & the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, & the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, & the carbuncle, & gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets & of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Daniel 3:24-90

And walked in the midst of the flame, singing praise to God, & blessing the Lord. Then Azarias stood up, & prayed on this manner; & opening his mouth in the midst of the fire said, Blessed art Thou, O Lord God of our fathers: Thy name is worthy to be praised & glorified for evermore: for Thou art righteous in all the things that Thou hast done to us: yea, true are all Thy works, Thy ways are right, & all Thy judgments truth. In all the things that Thou hast brought upon us, & upon the holy city of our fathers, even Jerusalem, Thou hast executed true judgment: for according to truth & judgment didst Thou bring all these things upon us because of our sins. For we have sinned & committed iniquity, departing from Thee. In all things have we trespassed, & not obeyed Thy commandments, nor kept them, neither done as Thou hast commanded us, that it might go well with us. Wherefore all that Thou hast brought upon us, & every thing that Thou hast done to us, Thou hast done in true judgment. And Thou didst deliver us into the hands of lawless enemies, most hateful forsakers of God, & to an unjust king, & the most wicked in all the world. And now we cannot open our mouths, we are become a shame & reproach to Thy servants, & to them that worship Thee. Yet deliver us not up wholly, for Thy name’s sake, neither disannul Thou Thy covenant: & cause not Thy mercy to depart from us, for Thy beloved Abraham’s sake, for Thy servant Isaac’s sake, & for Thy holy Israel’s sake; to whom Thou hast spoken & promised, that Thou wouldest multiply their seed as the stars of heaven, & as the sand that lieth upon the seashore. For we, O Lord, are become less than any nation, & be kept under this day in all the world because of our sins. Neither is there at this time prince, or prophet, or leader, or burnt offering, or sacrifice, or oblation, or incense, or place to sacrifice before Thee, & to find mercy. Nevertheless in a contrite heart & an humble spirit let us be accepted. Like as in the burnt offerings of rams & bullocks, & like as in ten thousands of fat lambs: so let our sacrifice be in Thy sight this day, & grant that we may wholly go after Thee: for they shall not be confounded that put their trust in Thee. And now we follow Thee with all our heart, we fear Thee, & seek Thy face. Put us not to shame: but deal with us after Thy lovingkindness, & according to the multitude of Thy mercies. Deliver us also according to Thy marvellous works, & give glory to Thy name, O Lord: & let all them that do Thy servants hurt be ashamed; & let them be confounded in all their power & might, & let their strength be broken; & let them know that Thou art Lord, the only God, & glorious over the whole world. And the king’s servants, that put them in, ceased not to make the oven hot with rosin, pitch, tow, & small wood; so that the flame streamed forth above the furnace forty & nine cubits. And it passed through, & burned those Chaldæans it found about the furnace. But the Angel of the Lord came down into the oven together with Azarias & his fellows, & smote the flame of the fire out of the oven; & made the midst of the furnace as it had been a moist whistling wind, so that the fire touched them not at all, neither hurt nor troubled them. Then the three, as out of one mouth, praised, glorified, & blessed God in the furnace, saying, Blessed art Thou, O Lord God of our fathers: & to be praised & exalted above all for ever. And blessed is Thy glorious & holy name: & to be praised & exalted above all for ever. Blessed art Thou in the temple of Thy holy glory: & to be praised & glorified above all for ever. Blessed art Thou that beholdest the depths, & sittest upon the Cherubim: & to be praised & exalted above all for ever. Blessed art Thou on the glorious throne of Thy kingdom: & to be praised & glorified above all for ever. Blessed art Thou in the firmament of heaven: & above all to be praised & glorified for ever. O all ye works of the Lord, bless ye the Lord: praise & exalt Him above all for ever. O ye heavens, bless ye the Lord: praise & exalt Him above all for ever. O ye Angels of the Lord, bless ye the Lord: praise & exalt Him above all for ever. O all ye waters that be above the heaven, bless ye the Lord: praise & exalt Him above all for ever. O ye holy & humble men of heart, bless ye the Lord: praise & exalt Him above all for ever. O Ananias, Azarias, & Misael, bless ye the Lord; praise & exalt Him above all for ever: for He hath delivered us from hell, & saved us from the hand of death, & delivered us out of the midst of the furnace & burning flame: even out of the midst of the fire hath He delivered us. O give thanks unto the Lord, because He is gracious: for His mercy endureth for ever. O all ye that worship the Lord, bless the God of gods, praise Him & give Him thanks: for His mercy endureth for ever.
